Education
Schools of any size can take advantage of recent improvements in energy efficiency.

The EPA estimates that energy costs, which amount to approximately $8 billion per year nationwide, are the second most significant draw in K-12 school districts’ operating budgets. A total of $2 billion can be saved by improving energy efficiency at K-12 schools. This amount is equivalent to nearly 40 million textbooks. The average annual energy consumption of colleges and universities in America is $1.10/square foot for electricity and 18c/square foot for natural gas. Higher education buildings that span around 50,000 sq. feet consume more than $100,000 annually.
